Black headed Caique, gentile, supper sweet. parrot, parakeet, bird in Sunnyvale, California For Sale

Black headed Ciaque about 5-6 months old. Supper sweet and gentile, just a little shy at first with new people. We have been calling him Murk. He is a rescue and had a difficult start in life. Original owner was well meaning but had no clue or understanding of parrots dietary, mental or physical requirements. Just another case of seeing a beautiful bird and saying I want that, but also being afraid of him too. She did not understand that parrots use their beaks has hands and grabbing you with his beak before he stepped up for example was not him trying to bite. It appears he got slapped a lot for this and where he will step up he is afraid of being slapped with the other hand. But if you are gentile with him and talk softly with out fear and let him know you are not going to hurt him he is very sweet. As the pictures show. He is a very sweet boy even my daughter and her friends can pick him up and play with him. Mind you they have been taught how to handle and treat birds before hand.
Murk would do best in a home where he gets a lot of one on one attention and where he is encouraged to spend most of the day outside his cage. Currently Murk spends 80% of his day outside his cage, and he mostly stays on the large bird stand or playing inside the cockatoos cage playing with their toys.
Caique's need a good seed and pellet diet along with fresh fruits and veggies daily.
